- Mountain bike trail log app: your trails, rides and conditions, and the ones you haven't ridden in a while. An AI Putty example you can copy and change.
Mountain bike trail log: rides and conditions
A mountain bike trail log for riders who keep going back to the same few trails and want to know which ones they've been missing. It's a live example built with AI Putty from one sentence: "I ride trails on my mountain bike. Keep track of the trails, when I rode them and the conditions, and show me which ones I haven't done in a while." You can import it into your own project and change it by talking to your AI.
Haven't ridden in a while
Four cards at the top: the trails you've gone longest without riding, never-ridden ones first. Each card shows the trail, the days since your last ride (or never), its area and the date of the last ride. Over two months shows in red.
Trails
Every trail in the same order as the cards, so the top of the list is the next trail to ride. The columns: Trail, Area, Length (km), Climb (m), Difficulty (green, blue, black or double black), Rides (how many times you've ridden it) and Last ride, with the date, the conditions then and N days ago.
Log a ride
Log a ride (members): pick the Trail and the Date (today to start), the Conditions (dry, tacky, wet, muddy or snow), how many Minutes it took and any Notes, then Log it. The trail moves down the list.
Recent rides
Your latest six rides, newest first: the trail, the conditions as a small coloured tag, the date, the time in minutes, the average speed in km/h and your notes.
Examples
"Which trail should I ride next?" Look at the first card under Haven't ridden in a while. In the sample data it's Widowmaker Descent in Eagle Ridge, which has never been ridden; Rock Garden and Switchback Climb follow, last ridden in May and June.
"What was Creekside Loop like last time?" Find it in Trails and read Last ride. In the samples, the last ride was on October 25 in snow; Recent rides adds the note: "Early dusting; slow but beautiful."
"How fast was that ride?" Read the km/h in Recent rides. It's the trail's length over the minutes you logged, so a ride logged without minutes shows no speed.
Make it yours
Ask your AI to import it (see BikeTrails): "import the biketrails app from examples". Your project gets the model, the app, this help and the sample trails, and from then on it's yours to change. Then, say:
- "Add the trails I ride most"
- "Remind me on Friday of a trail I haven't done in a month"
- "Show my rides per month this year"
- "Show which conditions I ride in most"
How it's built
Two classes: a trail (name, area, length, climb, difficulty) and a ride (a dated ride on one trail, with the conditions, minutes and notes). A ride's average speed is computed in the model from the trail's length and the minutes. The page finds each trail's last ride, counts the rides, and sorts the trails by days since they were last ridden. See BikeTrailsDesign for the layout and BikeTrails for all the parts.
